Cosplayer Interview: Misato Noir

Lets take a little road trip south of the equator for our next Cosplayer Interview. Lets give a warm welcome to Misato Noir.

I think I first saw her in her Misato cosplay. It was her as the Manga version that really drew me in. I enjoyed the way that she not only transformed the character, but also her mannerisms as well. It would have bee a good cosplay just as it, but with her added posing and expressions, it really brought her alive.

Misato has also mastered Sheryl Nome quite well too. She has done some of the more well known version of this character. Each one seems to be a splitting image of Sheryl and I applaud her versatility.

Like always, I ramble a bit. Lets get to the actually reason for this post, the Interview!

What is your name and where do you reside?

My name is Fernanda, my nickname is Misato or Misato Noir and I`m from Santiago, Chile.

What first started you on the road to cosplay?

I started with the Lifa Lockhart cosplay , specifically the Advent Children in año 2006, but I will like to started with Misato Katsuragi of Evangelion.

How do you choose which characters you will Cosplay?

I choose the cosplay thinking in my love for the series, manga or videogame and the synchrony with the characters. Also with the passing of the years I like to increase the complexity of my costume, they are a challenge for me.

A lot of Cosplayers are using Facebook to promote themselves. Why did you choose Facebook and how has the support been on it?

I have a Facebook page to promote my work

How is the cosplay scene in Chile and is there a large support for this craft?

Little by little the cosplay scene in Chile it's increasing, we going a little slow in relation to countries like Brasil or Mexico.

But like a latino-american country I think we going in a good way, we just need to empower ourselves and supporting each other to make us see in a really good job.
Vote for her at Otaku House!

What conventions or shows have you cosplayed at and have you gotten any awards?

I don't have a lot of lucky to win any prizes, but I have won in simple conventions. These fill me with a lot of joy because you feel more appreciation in your work.

What has been your favorite character to cosplay to date and why?

If, before watching Macross Frontier, I thought my favorite character to cosplayar was Misato Katsuragi from Evangelion. But now I fear I've fallen for Sheryl Nome. This character is fascinating and their costumes each more beautiful than the last! I cannot stop adding Sheryl suits my list of unfinished projects!

When not cosplaying, what do you do?

When I'm not cosplaying I like going out with my friends. I also enjoy making clothes because I know costume design and I like to improve myself much as possible.

For any aspiring cosplayers a little shy, what words of wisdom do you have for them to get started?

Taking the character to reality, that is a privilege and it's a really beautiful thing!

For people who are more shy, I would like to say that if you love your character and this is outgoing, forget about your own personality to make the magic that can pass only cosplayers.

Where can we catch more of your Cosplay at?
