Cosplayer Interview: YukiGodbless

Welcome to another edition of our Cosplayer Interview segment. This week we will be talking with YukiGodbless.

I am always on deviantArt's website checking my messages and checking out my favorites. it was here that I made another fantastic cosplayer discovery. I was truly taken back by her vibrant cosplays and designs. If the colorful layouts don't take your breath away, then the shear size of them should. She doesn't take shortcuts - ANYWHERE - and it shows.

She loves games and as you will see, she doesn't just do the easy characters. What really accentuates these cosplays is the photography. Some of these have an added design element that just takes these to the next level. Any number of these would should be hanging in museums or at the least be at the Gaming Studios for the character that she portraits.

Time to get on to the show as this is an interview.

What is your name, where do you reside and what is your age?

My name is YukiGodbless. I live in Thailand and I'm 22.

What first started you on the road to cosplay?

It starting in 2007 after I met my cosplay inspiration "JiakiDarkness".

He invited me to join his project cosplay "King of Fighters". I just couldn't deny him because it is one of my favorite games, so I cosplayed as Luis.

How do you choose which characters you will Cosplay?

I choose it by my favorite characters at that time. You guys always seen me in armor and bright colours but I'm not sure why it is always be like this. It might be my basis subconscious mind is to love it.

By the way, I'm a gamer...

I'm always love the characters who can be self-reliant and good with the sword. It is the heart of the matter to clear the game!

You have some of the most detailed and extravagantly designed cosplays. How long do these generally take and what materials are used?

It is up to the costume I making and free time I have. But I'm always spend all of my free time to do the costumes and I never make it rushed. About my material I use is just EVA [Craft Foam]

Do you enjoy designing or wearing the cosplays you make (or is it a bit of both)?

Because I'm cosplayer, every dasign is from the original characters. I never design my own idea except my own work for the movie, fashion etc.

I'm happy to wearing my own costumes I make more than anything but I'm happier when I making it.

With the whole design theme, you also have some stunningly beautiful photographs and videos of them as well. How did you end up being such a well rounded artist? Did you go to school or has this been a something that you developed over the years?

I was born into an artist family, so it make me have some art skill but about the style of costumes I make is only from my experience. I try through trial and error for many times but finally I got it.

Anyway, I started to work with television industry when I was 18 years old for my part time work. It helped me to have some photography experience and skills editing videos.

I couldn’t help but notice that where ever you saw your name, JiakiDarkness was right with you. It seems that the both of have created some exquisite designs and photos. How did you come into working with him?

Jiakidarkness in not only be my partner but he also be the first one who taught me what is the real meaning of cosplay by what he doing.

I met him when I joined my first cosplay convention and then, we started to cosplay together.

When not cosplaying, what do you do?

I'm working and studying, playing game and watching anime before my bed time.

For any aspiring cosplayers a little shy, what words of wisdom do you have for them to get started?

I look at the anime or games when playing and watching every day. They never shy to show us their story. If we love them, we can show them our love by cosplay. It is a fun activity and it can make your life closer to the imagination.

Where can we catch more of your Cosplay at?

As a "Aircraft Mechanic", I KNOW I could Build/Design better. I have a Red + Black Vampire Cosplay idea and WINGS... ALL-WAYS get you noticed. (I am 5.6 SHORT) Any advice can you pass on?
