Otaku Cribs: 2old4anime

I finally got some things situated and figures built. I am now ready to showcase my Otaku Crib aka My Son's Weekend Room. It is full of my figures, books and computer stuff, but it is also where he sleeps when he is here. He likes all the figures and especially the Gundams. Some of them he helped me with when I had him on the weekends.

I have a simple setup for my computer. I actually have the modem and router behind the main monitor with the CPU on a floor stand under the desk. I love having the computer background span across both screens. I have 23 different anime / artwork backgrounds that change every 30 minutes. When my sons logins under his profile, I have Gundam wallpaper for him. Though he mainly is playing Minecraft when he logs in X^D

Here is the over view of the room. I had plans to switch how the 2 walls were, but I decided to do it this way. It seemed to flow better and kept the room open. It is a mix of Sexy girls, Mecha and some Comic Book statues.

My only issue is that the top shelf is not sitting right. They are the invisible bracket shelves from IKEA and this one just isn't sitting flush. Since it is just figure and minimal weight, it is holding fine. I only have a couple posters up now - Summer Wars and Gurren Lagann. The Maiko game sign was a gift from DC. I also have my son's bug collection in the shelf under the sign. Most of them came from where I work as it was a buggy Summer there.

Here are some close up shots of the figures.

You can see I have a very diverse group of series in these shots. The oldest figures are the Tauntaun
Tauntauns
w/C3P0,  Dancouga and the Transformer Jetfire (Macross). Outside my figures, you see I have a pretty large library of artbooks and graphic novels. I love the artwork that is produced by some of these and have been collecting them for just as long. The binders at the bottom of the small shelving unit are all original artwork that I have collected. My last count was over 1,350 pieces in the collection. My manga collection has been reduced, but I am building it back up again.

I had more Gundam figures, but I gave most of them to my son. He really likes building them with me and sets them up in his room at his Moms. Maybe one day once he finally has his room done, we will do a Otaku Crib of his room.

I can't forget my cat Maxie. She is always hanging out between the keyboard and monitors looking for little love or she just starts licking herself - ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

  2. I like how it looks, also a very astonishing array of figures! Mine is actually filled to brim with books/manga and looks more like a stuffy library basement, then an actual crib and/or room.
I'd like to post something but I'm too hazukashii =(((

    1. A while back I sold a lot of my anime and manga, so that is actually mostly new stuff. I think I had 3 boxes of manga and 2 boxes of anime that I got rid of.

    1. It is my son's room when he comes over as well as my computer room. I wanted a place we both could escape to and enjoy the things we both love!
