We were at Kohl's a couple weeks ago clothes shopping. I wondered over to their toy section which is small and in the back. They had a special where Transformers were Buy 1 and get 1 1/2 off. We also had a 30% off coupon, so I decided to take a look.
It was fun as I found 2 Transformers that were identical in structure. It was Mindset from Reveal the Shield series and Hailstorm from Hunt for the Decepticons series. Both were identical vehicles with a different coloring and face design (will show later). Outside that, they were the same ones. Mindset was plain blue and black with black rockets, while Hailstorm was camouflaged and had Red Rockets. OUt of the two, Hailstorm was much cooler if you ask me.
I decided it would be fun to get these as I could battle with my son as they had 8 rockets you could launch at stuff. Well, sort of launch as you had to push them from behind to launch. This was a bitch as they locked in place and when pushed on, would pop out. I found it was better to not have them locked and flick your finger to make them fly. I personally was hoping for some spring action fire which would of been way more fun.
Here are some shots out of the box with them in vehicle mode, transformed mode and they lovely mugs to behold.
Transforming from vehicle mode to robot was a bit of an experience. You did need the instructions especially when reverting them back to vehicle. The hardest part was moving the arms and face as they were in a scissor joint connection. You had to push down to get them in place and then push sideways to get them to pop up.
Since they were the same, it was easier on the second unit as you already did it once.
For some fun and excitement, we took them outside for a mock battle. I was hoping my son would help, but he was more interested in catching bugs. I was able to get some interesting shots and perspectives for this photo shoot.
Wow its rare to see you do toy review and its good! Nice score bro!
ReplyDelete@LEon ~ I know, I need to do more of these - my son would especially like it as he reaps the benefits of a blog post - LOL
ReplyDeleteNice outdoor shot! The transformation of TF toys these days really are complex.
