1000 Incredible Cosplay and Costume Ideas

I wanted to make a quick post here for 1000 Incredible Cosplay and Costume Ideas.

Our resident co-writer DC found this over at Yaya Han's site originally. He even contact me about entering it and I told him to go for it. He had a photoshot of his 'Priest of Tao' cosplay that we are all familar with here.

He sent me the shots and I did a few edits and cropping for the book. I submitted 4 thumbnails on his behalf. We are very happy to announce that they were accepted. We have just uploaded the 4 pics along with the required forms. DC is very excited and is very much looking forward to the publication.

"We are seeking submissions for possible publication in 1000 Incredible Cosplay and Costume Ideas, an upcoming book by Dr. Grymm (Joey Marsocci), Allison DeBlasio and Yaya Han.

Publication date: June 2013

Comic book, Sci-Fi, and Anime conventions have been around since the 1930's. With those conventions come the ultimate fans, those who Cosplay. Joey Marsocci and Allison DeBlasio of Dr. Grymm Laboratories, authors of the immensely popular 1000 Steampunk Creations (Quarry Books, 2011) with the addition of Yaya Han, are putting out a call to artists to submit their most amazing cosplay photographs for compilation into exciting upcoming book.

We are seeking submissions for the following categories:

Anime

Manga

Video games

Comic books

Television

Steampunk

Burlesque

Movies

Fantasy

Custom characters

Props

We are not just looking for the best in each category, but for unique, dynamic, and high quality photography of characters and props.

All costume and props must be original works. Photos submitted by the photographer must be submitted along with a model release and the name and country of origin of all subjects. We are looking for sophisticated images to help us elevate the world of cosplay. If you would like to submit photos taken at conventions, please make sure the backgrounds are free of clutter, crowds, and other patrons. We will accept Photoshop effects when appropriate."

This is a call to all our cosplay friends - send in your submission and be part of the excitement. We know that there are thousands of wonderful cosplayers that would be stunning in this book.

The deadline is August 31st, so please submit your own photographs by then. We are hoping that many of our cosplayer friends will also be in the book :D
