DC Rushton’s Web Report: “SD Comic Con: Day-2”
“THE DAY IT RAINED ON MY COMIC CON.”
Thunder echo in my dream state mind as reality’s hand took hold and called: “TIS CON”! Making my way to Ye Old Coffee Pot, then to my Lap Top for Con Theme Music, MORE THUNDER ECHO? The “Music of My Otaku Cosplayer Soul… “SLAYERS”, struck, and again, the thunder! With only a red bath towel around my waist I opened the door… Comic Con History Was Made! Rain? NEVER HAPPENS? Enjoy the pictures of it here below.
“I TELL YOU, THE TROLLEY TO GET TO THE COMIC CON IS SO CROWDED… (HOW CROWDED IS IT?) ALL THE SPIDER MAN COSPLAYER ARE RIDING OUTSIDE THE TROLLEY HANGING ON!!!”
Bingo! There he is. “Stan Sakai”. The Man who has given us “30 YEARS OF: USAGI YOJIMBO” (the Samurai Rabbit)
(Sat. Day-3 of Con is Panel with Stan Sakai! and the BAD NEWS of his wonderful Wife.)
With tears in my eyes I waited for my turn to speak with my old friend of many Cons. “I’ve worried so much Stan about you old friend.” I said with a crack in my voice. “Still have the “Jade Turtle I gave you?” He did, and showed it to me hanging around his neck. Asking about how his family was he, wisely change the subject to me and how I have been. He Knows Me Well! Signing a $10.00 scrapbook of his I bought, he saw a picture of Queen Yaya on my camera. “You know Yaya?” he asked. Well I pulled out my “Mini-Portfolio” showing my Cosplay and the Queens of Cosplay I know and shared their stage. Not wanting to “Hog”, his time I gave him a small turtle for his wife, and she he said she told him to say Hi! to me. “See you at your Panel Saturday Stan!” I said with a hug.
I found that the Con has grown so big, and it’s lines so… so… SO LONG, It’s better just to travel through the Universe, and visit each World within the Comic Con, and just….
“LET IT HAPPEN!”
