I know this may be old news to some of you, but I had to share.
It seems that Nick Simmons (yes, this is Gene Simmons son) has been promoting a comic called Incarnate. He is not only the Creator, but also the Writer and Penciler of this. Now I know that artists get inspiration from a wide variety of areas. Some have tried to imitate the artwork style in their strips. I have not however, seen someone go as far as to actually redraw the same artwork and say it is theirs.
This is the first time I have seen a comic book plagiarized to the extreme that this has. Not only are the charcters similar, but the panels are also taken directly from the panels in the Bleach Manga. Dude, if you plan on stealing, make sure it is not from a widely recognized story. Taking shortcuts is not what you want to be know for.
If you want to see how bad this is, check out Kylara's Livejournal blog. There are many noted examples and uploads by various Bleach Fans. Here are some screen shots of a couple of the ideas that was ripped off as uploaded by cuddl. Trust me, this is only the tip of the iceberg.
It seems that Radical is taking all this serious and has noted that on their site as well on 02/25. < LINK >

What are your opinions? Did he just imitate or replicate?

smh... some people just lack the ethics >_>
ReplyDeleteI really hope the comic/ anime community recognizes the blatant plagiarism and expose and shut him out for this.
ReplyDeleteThis pissed me off...
This totally makes me sick!!!!! I know that he is the son of a famous rock star, but that doesen't give him the right to steal another person's work!!!!!!! BAKA!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, I have a hard time believing this being published. You'd think the higher ups would have caught on to this level of plagiarism.
ReplyDeleteAre you seriously kidding? They don't even make some vain attempt to try to mask blatant plagiarism? Wow, just wow... I hope they get sued into oblivion and the world can continue to go on.
ReplyDeleteI saw this on my forums, the amount of material taken from Bleach is pretty startling. It's no wonder he got called out on it.
ReplyDeleteLol.. both of them looks exactly the same to me..
ReplyDeleteHahahaha, can you say outright plagiarism?!
